PHASE X

"0800- Civilian sugar inspectors left."

After leaving us, the two agricultural experts had gone on to inspect other places. Now they left Negros.

"7-5-45 Patrols by railcar to Santiago. Nil activity. One collabarator turned over by civilians, Capt. Batiste. A filipinio, picked up at Cadiz for questioning."

"Company patrol of 306 men left at 0800 hr to investigate report of enemy at San Isidro, San Jose, Bashren area. Patrol to stay overnight. No report at end of period. Civilians turned over 1 enemy civilian & 3 soldiers that had captured near San Isidro. All surrendered voluntarily."

Obviously a company patrol would not number 306 men.
It must have been 30 or 36 men.
